Dear Jenny,
How’s it going? Are you busy with your study these days?
I’ve been back at school 1 nearly four weeks. I’m very glad to tell you that great 2 have taken place in our school this term. First of all, we’re asked to “clear our plates” when having our meals and say 3 to wasting. Some of us used to order more than what we could eat. That was a big waste of food. Now we need to  4 the food we order. We should also stop wasting in some other ways. For example, we should turn off the lights when we  5the classroom. And our school has opened up some fields for us to learn how to grow vegetables. Each class is given a small garden and our class has decided to grow some tomatoes and beans( 豆类) in our  6 time. I think that’ll be very interesting. Maybe I’ll be able to  7 you some beans we’ve grown by ourselves next time! What’s more, we have only two classes in the afternoon  8we have more time for after-school activities. I’m one of the traffic safety volunteers in our school. After school, we take turns to  go to the streets near our school and ask people to  9 the traffic rules.
I think we are having a different school life now!
Please write back soon and tell 10 more about your school.
Yours,
Wang Wei

Young people are often unhappy when they are with their parents,They   1 that their parents don’t understand them,They often think their parents are too strict with them.
Parents often find it difficult to win their children’s trust(信任)and they seem to forget how they themselves   2 when they were young.
For example, young people like to do things without much thinking. It’s one of their ways to  3  that they grow up and they can deal with any difficult things. Older people worry more easily. Most of them plan things  4  and don’t like their plans to be changed.
Young people often make their parents  5 by clothes they want, the music they enjoy and something else. But they don’t mean to cause(引起)any trouble. They just want to be   6  and they want to make a new culture(文化) of their own.
Sometimes you even don’t want your parents to say“  7 ”to what you do. You want to stay at home and do what you like.
If you plan to control(控制) your  8,you’d better win your parents over and try to get them to  9  you. If your parents see that you have high sense of responsibility(责任),they will  10 give you the right(权利) to do what you want to do.

Adults usually do not remember most of the things that are taught by their teachers at school. But this story is one 1 that I will never forget.
It was a normal Monday morning, and my teacher was teaching us about 2things in life and about devoting ourselves to what we really need. This is how the story went:
3 lived in a certain part of London, and he would wake up every morning and go to the underground. He would get onto the train right to Central London, and then sit at the street corner and 4. He would do this every single day of his life. He sat at5street corner and begged for almost 20 years.
His 6 was dirty, and a stench (恶臭) came out. The neighbors could not bear the 7any more, so they called for the police officers to clear the place. The officers knocked down the door and 8the house. There were small bags of9all over the house that he had collected over the years.
The police counted the money, and they soon 10that the old man was a millionaire. They waited outside his house expecting to 11the good news with him. When the old man arrived home that evening, one of the officers told him that there was no need for him to beg any more as he was a 12man now, a millionaire.
But the old man said 13;he went into his house and locked the door. The next morning he woke up 14,went to the underground, sat at the same street corner and continued to beg.
Clearly, this old man had no great plans, 15 or anything significant (重大的) for his life. We learn nothing from this story but to stay focused on the things we enjoy doing.
