My mother used to ask me, “What is the most important part of the body?” When I was young, I thought 1 was very important to us, so I said, “My ears, Mommy.” She said, “No. Many people are deaf but still live a2 life; keep thinking and I will ask you again.”
Several years 3before she asked me again. This time I told her, “Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes.” She looked at me and told me, “You are4 fast, but the answer is not correct. Many people are blind, but they still live happily.” Over the years, she asked me many times and always her answer was, “No. But you are getting 5 every year, my child.”
Then last year, my grandpa died. Everyone was crying. When it was our turn to6 our final goodbye to him, my mother asked me, “Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?” I was7 when she asked me this. I always thought this was a game between her and me. I saw her eyes with tears. She said, “My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder (肩膀).” I asked, “Is it because it8 up my head?” She replied, “No. It is because it can hold the head of a friend or a relative (亲戚) when he or she9. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends, so you will10have a shoulder to cry on when you need it.” That was when I realized what the most important body part is.

Today, it is a big problem for young graduates to get satisfying jobs.1that there are thousands of different kinds of jobs in the world. Choose the right one itself is not easy.
“Finding a job” is not2as “choosing a job”. Many young people end up in a job because they are not3for it. Sometimes “Chance” may 4a more important part than “decision”.
Here are a few steps to help you think about5which you might enjoy doing after school or university. First, it is important6what kind of person you are, which special qualities7you outstanding (突出的,杰出的) among people and what you are interested in. There is a difference8an interest and a skill. If you like9and enjoy looking at pictures, that is an interest. But if you can10a horse that looks like a horse not a big dog, that is a11.
Then ask yourself a question, “In the following three areas --- skills with people, skills with information and skills with things, which are your12skills?
After13your skills, the next step is research. To14as many different kinds of jobs as possible, go to the library and read books, magazines and newspapers for information. Ask your friends15the work they do.
Finally, trust your own ideas and your own thinking! It is your own life, just find the job you really enjoy doing.
