Fujian Tulou is a special type of Chinese building. People built most of them between the 12th and the 20th century.
The oldest one has a history of more than 1,000 years.
Tulou is usually a large rectangular(长方形的)or round building with high walls. The walls are made of earth, stones, bamboo and wood, so they are thick and strong. They can not only keep the building safe from the wind and earthquake, but also make it warm in winter and cool in summer. There is usually only one main gate in each Tulou and up to (至多)80 families can live in it. It is like a small city.
UNESCO(联合国教科文组织)chose a total of 46 Fujian Tulou as a World Heritage Site(世界文化遗产)in 2008. Fujian Tulou set a good example for the world. Man can live in harmony(和谐,融洽)with the environment.

What do you think of stress? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
Most of the students think stress can do harm (伤害)
1
them in some ways. There’s a story about a teenager in a middle school. He even
2
his study because of the stress from school and family. We also usually
3
that someone turns to psychological doctors because of heavy working stress. There is no doubt (疑问) that some people think stress is a dangerous wolf.
On the other hand, other people argue that stress is not a bad thing. They
4
stress can produce momentum (动力)in the end. For them, right attitude and action can reduce (减少) stress and make it
5
. When I was a child, my mom always pushed me to study hard. She wished I could go to an ideal
6
for further education. I experienced stress for the first time. To a poor family, I deeply knew
7
was not easy for us, and everything my mom did to me was just to hope I could live a better life in the future.
8
the saying goes, “No pains, no gains.” So I did what my mom expected because I didn’t want to let her down. At last, I did measure up (达到标准)to my mom’s expectation and go to college
9
. Thanks to my mom’s push! Thanks to the stress! In this way, I don’t think stress is a bad thing.
Overall, stress is not a bad thing in
10
. The key is how we deal with it.

When people find something valuable and return it to its owner, they are often given a reward. This is because the person not only found what was lost but also spent time

its owner or taking it to the police station.
There was once a young boy

found a woman’s purse in a shopping centre. Inside the purse there

some money and the woman’s driving license. Her name and

were printed on the license, so the boy knew where she lived. That evening he went to her house and

her door. When she opened it, he said, “ I found your purse,” and handed it to her.
“Thank you very much,” she said. She opened her purse and took out all the money. She wanted to give the boy a small reward,
6
there were only bills of $20 in the purse and she thought that $ 20 was too
7
to give the boy. “ I’m sorry,” she said, “ but I don’t have any small
8
to give you.”
The boy said, “That’s all right,” and he went away.
A few days later he found
9
woman’s purse. It also had her driving license in it, so he knew where she lived. He went to her house and said “ I found your purse,” and handed it to her.
“Thank you very much, “ she said. She opened her purse and took out all her money.
“That’s
10
” , she said, “ Before I lost my purse I had a $100 bill and a $20 bill in it. Now I have a $100 bill, a $10 bill and two $5 bills.”
“Yes,” the boy said, and smiled.
