A US blog website for volleyball fans created a new word for Chinese volleyball player Zhu Ting. “ZHUperb!” the word combines(结合) “Zhu” and “superb”, to describe the 24-year-old player’s dominance(支配地位) on the court(球场).

At a young age, Zhu is the captain of China women’s national volleyball team. But it hasn’t been easy for Zhu to get to where she is today.

Born in a farming family in Henan Province. Zhu got a chance to attend a local sports school at the age of 13. The player got homesick during the first few months of training. But later she got over it, and her father encouraged her to work hard. She tried her best and made great progress. She quickly moved from the provincial youth team(省少年队) to the national youth team. In 2013, Zhu joined the national team and met the famous coach Lang Ping.

At the beginning, because of her 1.98-meter height, Zhu found it difficult to move fast and hold her weight on her feet. But Lang encouraged her to take advantage of her height. She trained her to jump high to smash the ball(扣杀). After this, she became an ace spiker(主攻). Now she treats her height as an advantage of her physical strength.

Zhu still works hard during training. “Hard work and talent are both important. I’ll move forward step by step.” she said.

Why is setting goals(目标) important? Because goals can help you do and experience everything you want in life. Instead of just letting life happen to you, goals allow you to make your life happen.

Successful people in life imagine how their life should be and set lots of goals. 1. It’s like having a sign to show you where you want to go. Think of it in this way. There are two drivers, one has a place to go to clearly in mind which can be found on a map. He can drive straight there surely without any wasted time.

The other driver has no goal, or a map. 2. But he drives aimlessly around, never getting anywhere. Just using up oil. Which driver do you want to be?

3. They decide what they want in life and then get there by setting goals and making plans. Unsuccessful people usually just let life happen by accident. Goals aren’t difficult to set and they aren’t difficult to reach. 4. You are the person who must decide what to achieve and in what direction to aim your life.

Research, tells us that when we write a goal down we are more likely to achieve it.

5. They are harder to forget. Also when you write your goals in your own way, you are able to make yourself realize situations that will bring you nearer to your goal.

WeChat is popular among us, but if someone deletes you or blocks(屏蔽) you on WeChat, does(A)it mean you’ve made him or her angry?

It depends.

Maybe you have just left messages too often without much valuable information. For example, the questions are those like “how are you?” “what are u doing?” “do u love me?” too often. You know, people may feel bored after answering these kinds of questions over and over again.

Another possible reason may be that you have sent something unpleasant to your friend or in your friend circle. I just blocked one of my middle school classmates yesterday because she was trying to sell(B)fake goods in the friend circle, and I hate it quite much.

Some people delete the one’s name from friends list because they no longer want to see it (maybe ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend) and they don’t want the one to see their “Moments(动态)” in their friend circle (maybe they publish very private pictures of life or thoughts they don’t want to share with him or her).

So why you are blocked may depend on his or her mood or preference, and the reasons a person gets blocked are various from person to person. So I advise you to write an e-mail or make a phone call to that person if he or she really means a lot to you to see why he or she is dissatisfied with you, and to find out how you can make up for the case.
