Now some schools provide free Wi-Fi, and students can go online anywhere at school. However, students have their ideas about this.

Feng Tianqi, 13

It will be helpful to our study, especially for students with strong self-control(自制力). With the help of the Internet, we can get much knowledge and solve problems by ourselves. We can also use the Internet to read news and broaden our horizons(拓展我们的视野).

Xu Feiyang, 13

I agree with the rule. With the help of Wi-Fi, students can watch English movies and videos online in class and it will make study more interesting. It will also be good for us to hold school activities.

Zhang Ziyang, 13

It is not a good idea. There is both good and bad information on the Internet. It will take us too much time to find useful information. If we have problems with our study, we can ask teachers or classmates for help.

Zhu Yitian, 13

I don't agree. We may be addicted(上瘾的) to the Internet and mobile phones. Most of the boys in our class play games for three hours every day. If there is Wi-Fi at school, they may even play games in class and make trouble for the teacher.

Two brothers decided to dig a deep hole behind their house. As they were working, some older boys stopped by to watch.

“What are you doing?” asked one of the boys.

“We plan to dig a hole all the way through the earth!” one of the brothers answered excitedly.

The older boy began to laugh, telling the younger ones that digging a hole all the way through the earth was impossible. After a long silence, one of the diggers picked up a jar full of spiders, worms and insects. He showed it to the boys who were laughing at them. Then he said quietly and confidently, “ Even if we don’t dig all the way through the earth, look at what we found along the way!”

Their goal was far too difficult, but it made them dig. And that is what a goal is for---to make us move in the direction we have chosen. In other words, it sets us digging!

But not every goal will be fully achieved. Not every job will end successful. Not every hope will come to pass. Not every love will last. But you will find something wonderful that has come into your life because you try to do something. So please believe it is the joy in the journey that truly matters.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller lived with a pet dog, Rita. They started a sailing trip with Rita last November. On the seventh day of the trip, Mr. and Mrs. Miller were having a wonderful time when a storm(暴风雨) suddenly came. While the Millers were trying hard to keep the boat out of danger, they forgot about Rita. A moment later, they found Rita was lost. The couple were worried if she had died in the water. “Because it was a cloudy day, we just couldn’t find her even though we searched carefully for over an hour,” Mrs. Miller told BBC News. “We thought that if she fell into the water, she would be gone because of the big waves.”

Mr. and Mrs. Miller kept sad on their way home because they lost their favorite pet. But four months later, they received some surprising news — Rita had been found on an island. After falling off the boat, she had swam five miles to the island. And she lived by eating small animals there.

The people on the island first thought that she was a wild dog because she did not let people come close to her. However, when Mr. and Mrs. Miller came to pick her up, Rita knew who they were at once. “After I called her name, she jumped up and almost knocked me down,” Mrs. Miller said.

Rita’s terrible experience was finally over. She is all right at home now, relaxing by the pool. But Mrs. Miller is still not sure what her dog went through.

Rita was just a common house dog. She swam over five miles and lived successfully on her own.
