When people talk to each other, write letters or make phone calls, words of the spoken form or the written form can send any message they want to pass on.

But besides words, do you know any other ways you can use to communicate with people?Rich expressions on your face can be one of them.A smile on your face shows that you are happy.Tears in your eyes tell others that you are sad or excited.Body languages can do the same job. When you put your hand up in class, the teacher knows that you want to say something or you may have some questions to ask. You shake your head from side to side and people know you are saying"no"or refuse others' requirements. When you nod, people will understand that you are saying"yes"or agree to others' opinions or suggestions.

Other forms can also carry different message. For example,a sign at the bus stop gives passengers instructions on which bus to take. The flag language made by soldiers can pass different orders.Sound from the school bell tells the students and the teachers when to begin or end a class.A photographer can use the photos he has taken to tell others about what he thinks of the world around him.Music and films also convey the feelings and ideas of the musicians and the directors.

So next time when you see a piece of art or listen to some music, take it as communication with its creator and try to get the meaning behind it.

Do you still remember the great snacks in your childhood? Do they make you think of your happy childhood?

Dada Bubble Gum(泡泡糖)

Almost all the kids like bubble gum. It's fun to eat bubble gum. Kids often get together to see who gets the biggest bubble. I still remember my sister once blew a big bubble and then it broke, covering her face with gum! I usually bought Dada Bubble Gum from the small stores near my home. It was cheap. I could get two for one yuan.

Sugar Figure(糖人)

You could always find people making sugar figures around the school in the old days. First, the maker would take a little maltose(麦芽糖) with a small spoon, using his hands to make figure, such as the Monkey King, the White Dragon, and so on. It was not expensive, only one yuan for one. If one child bought a sugar figure, many other children would come around him and admire it.

Baby Face Ice?Cream

We like to call it snowman ice?cream better. It tasted very delicious. It was quite expensive. I remember the price was two yuan for each piece. That was not easy for me to buy one piece those days. Each time I got one, the happiness would last for a few days.

Malt Sugar Candy

Basketball is popular all over the world. But in Australia, people like to play netball(无挡板篮球), too. It is one of the most popular sports in Australia. The players are often girls. The sport is like basketball, but its rules are a little different. If a player gets the ball, she will only hold it for three seconds before shooting(投篮) or passing it to her teammates. There are seven players in each team. Each player has her own area to move in.

Girls at my school love the sport. We often had netball games this term. Something happened this month touched me deeply.

I was the defender(后卫). My job was to block the attacker(主攻手) from the other team. At the beginning, I wanted to win so much that I almost forgot my job. And it gave the other team a chance to get and pass the ball. During the break, our team leader gave me a serious talk, “If you really want to win, you should work with your teammates.”

And I did. In the second half of the game, I always stood in front of the attacker from the other team to block her sight. As a result, she missed the best time to attack. Our teammates got great long shots in. The score was 143 in the end. We won!

The game made me know the importance of teamwork and team spirit(精神). If everybody does what he or she likes and doesn't care about the whole team, the team will not work well.
