Nearby there lived a parentless boy named Tim. He wished he could fly like a bird. It was difficult for him to make his big dream come true.
One day the orphan came to a park. There he saw a little boy in the sand alone. Tim ran over and asked if he ever wanted to fly like a bird.
“No,” he answered, “I’m not able to walk like a normal child. As a crippled child, I wish I could walk and run the same as you do.”
“That is very sad,” said Tim, “but could we be friends?”
“Sure,” said the little boy.
The two boys played for a long time. They didn’t feel lonely any longer. Then the father came with a wheelchair to pick up his crippled son. Tim said something into the man’s ear.
“That would be OK,” replied the man with a smile.
Tim bent (弯腰) over his new friend and said, “You are my friend and I cannot make you walk and run like others. But I can really do something for you.”
Tim turned around and carried his friend on his back. Then he began to run around the sand. He ran faster and faster, with the little boy on. The father became excited with tears in his eyes as his son shouted at the top of his voice, “I’m FLYING! Daddy, I’m FLYING!”
