When we create something, for example,a story,a picture,a piece of music,or a computer program,we also create our copyright. The copyright belongs to the creator, and he can do what he lies with it.He can sell the copyright to someone,or keep it himself. He can also make as many copies as he likes.

Many people, especially students,do not understand it.Sometimes they copy something for personal use. They make a copy of a song downloaded from the Internet,or they make copies of a computer program from a CD lent to them by a friend.

Although these personal acts of copying are illegal (非法的),most people do not think they doing anything wrong. They do not realize that they are infringing(侵犯) copyrights of others.More seriously, some companies make a large number of copies of videos,CDs,books, etc.,and sell them without buying the copyright.
