Many men went to the caves(洞穴) to search for Tom and Becky．They searched for three days, but they did not find them．Where could they be?

At the picnic, Tom and Becky went into the caves with the other children．Tom saw a small opening and decided to explore(探索)．Becky followed him．They found a large cave with many bats on the roof(屋顶)．Tom and Becky were afraid and ran until they found a lake．They sat down to rest．

Then they tried to find a way back without meeting bats．They were soon lost．Becky began to cry．Tom tried to make her feel better．They walked around for a while．Then they found a spring(泉水) and stayed there for a long time．Tom walked along one of the other paths．Suddenly, he saw that the candle(蜡烛) was being carried by Injun Joe! Injun Joe was so afraid of Tom's shout that he ran away．Tom decided to try another path,and they made it．

Huckleberry was happy to see Tom and told him about following Injun Joe and the stranger into the forest．Tom was happy because he had been afraid that Injun Joe wanted revenge(报复) on him．

Tom told Huckleberry that he saw Injun Joe in the caves．They decided they never went there again．Judge Thatcher told Tom that nobody would ever go in there again if they didn’t ask him first．

An English traveler spent a few weeks in Sweden（瑞典）. When he was about to return home, he found that he had only enough money left to get a ticket to come back to England.
