AppleⅡ

Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computers inc.in 1976. A year later, the AppleⅡwas invented. This production was the world’s first mass-market personal computer.

The iMac

Under Job’s leadership, Apple introduced the all-in-one iMac computer in 1988. The iMac became the first machine which offered only a CD-ROM slot (插槽).

The iPad

By 2010, Steve Jobs was confident that the world was ready to have a tablet computer that would be great for watching movies and playing games. The touch-sen-sitive iPad was a great success.

The iPhone 4s

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg thanks Mr Jobs for "showing that what you build can change the world" while Sony Corp president and CEO Howard Stringer said: "The digital age has lost its leading light." South Korea's Samsung, which is involved in a case with Apple over patents(专利), admired Mr Jobs for his "Completely new and different changes to the IT industry".

Steve Jobs made technology* fun. The co-founder of Apple died on October 6th 2011 at the age of fifty-seven. He had fought for years against cancer. Thousands of people gathered outside his house in California, and Apple stores around the world.
Steve Jobs didn’t finish his college when he was young. His parents supported his early interest in electronics*. He and his friend started Apple Computer -- now just called Apple – at the age of 21. They stayed at the company until 1985. That year, his friend returned to college and Steve Jobs left in an argument with the CEO.
Mr. Jobs then set up his own company, called NeXT Computer. He rejoined* Apple Computer in 1997 when it was in bad time and then made it to one of the most valuable* companies in the world today.
Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple's CEO in August because of his health. He died a day after the company released* the new iPhone 4S.

The designer of the Apple Computer, Steve Jobs, was not quite successful in his early years. He was not among the best students at school, and from time to time he got into trouble with either his schoolmates or his teachers. But he was full of new ideas, which few people saw the value of. Things remained the same when he went up to college and he dropped out halfway.

Steve Jobs worked first as a video game designer at Atari. He worked there for only a few months and then he set out to tour India. He hoped that the trip would give him more ideas and give him a change in life for the better.

After he returned from India, he begin to live on a farm in California. And then, in 1975, Steve Jobs set about making a new type of computer. Along with his friend Stephen Wozniak, he designed the Apple Computer in his bedroom and built it in his garage(车库). He gave the name “Apple” because it reminded him of a happy summer he once on an orchard(果园) in Oregon.

His Apple Computer was so successful that Steve Jobs soon became worldwide famous. But unluckily, he died of illness in 2011.
