Mary is six years old. She often goes to the shop and goes to the church with her mother. She likes
following her mother.
One day, when they were in the church (教堂), the pastor (传教士) asked, "Who wants to go to the
heaven? Please put up your hand." All the people except Mary put up their hands. "Where do you want to
go, my girl?" asked the pastor.
"I want to go home with my mother." answered Mary.
When they got home, it was dark. Her mother began to do housework. She was very busy. She washed
some clothes. She cleaned the table and the chairs. Then she wanted to sweep (扫) the floor. But the broom
(扫帚) wasn't in the house.
"Could you help me, Mary?" "Would you like to go out and bring the broom for me?" "I'd love to, but it's
too dark outside. And I feel fear."
"Never fear. God can help you."
Mary opened the door and said, "Oh, my dear God, please pass the broom to me." She put her hand out
of the door.

阅读下列短文,根据短文中的信息完成文后表格。(每空一词)

When we talk about how teenagers are getting worse and worse now, most young people don’t agree. Teenagers always say they are growing up. They can have part-time jobs. They can drive cars. And they can even get married when they’re a little bit older.

Their parents say, “Our children are very good. They like pop music, but they play it in their own rooms. They help in the house. You know they feel bored sometimes because there’s nothing interesting in the neighborhood, no clubs and no sports. They have nothing to do.

A teacher says that he believes most young people are very kind. He thinks that it’s not bad for young people to like loud music because it can give them lots of energy and make them feel excited .Also, a lot of young people work very hard at school, and they can get good jobs later.

Lewis, a sixteen-year-old boy said, “I have passed all my examinations, but I can’t get a part-time job because older people always think I’m lazy.”

In my opinion, a lot of teenagers are very kind. They belong to community work groups. They help old people, and they also volunteer in local hospitals or primary schools to help look after the sick people and younger students.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Green,

Welcome to our neighborhood. I’m very glad that you and your family become our neighbor. However, I am sorry to say that you have brought some trouble to us. Mr. Green, would you please not play the drum late into the night? We can’t fall asleep until you stop it. Mrs. Green, you are always like the early bird. So would you please not sing so loud in the early morning? And your son Paul is playing balls at home all day. Would you please ask him not to play there? There is a big playground in front of our building. What’s more, your daughter Emma plays music too loud. She makes so much noise. My little baby starts to cry as soon as she plays the crazy music. Thank you for your understanding!

Yours,

Maria
