A Talking Fish

One afternoon last summer, Mr. Stow went to a fishman to buy fish for his supper, because a friend of his would come to have supper with him that evening.

It was hot, and most of the fish were not so good, but the fishman said, “Sir, all of my fish are good and fresh. When I was about 12, I had an enemy (敌人), a girl who liked to point out my shortcomings (缺点).
