How to Deal with the Exam Stress

Everyone may have the exam stress. A little bit of stress can be a good thing to us.If we have

proper stress, we can think actively and work harder. Besides, it can remind us to review our

lessons in time to remember them. So we can pass the exams easily.

However, if we have too heavy stress, we can¡¯t sleep well at night and we may feel too tired.

We may fear the exams too much and fail in the end.

In my opinion, to deal with stress, we¡¯d better plan and prepare well. We should also form some good habits, such as enough exercise and healthy diets. Then we¡¯ll feel relaxed and do well in the exams.

As you know, homework is a big part of going to school. Luckily, here are several suggestions(½¨Òé) for you to make homework easy.

Make a homework plan

Most middle school students have two or three hours of homework a night. If it is a heavy homework day, you may need to spend even more time. It is a good idea to come up with some kind of homework schedule(½ø¶È±í), especially if you are going to do sports or other activities after school.

Watch where you work

A bedroom, study or any room where you can get away from noise is good for you to do your homework. But don't study on your comfortable bed, or you might fall asleep there.

Take a break

Most people's attention (×¢ÒâÁ¦) don't last very long, so take some breaks while doing your homework. Sitting for too long without relaxing will make you less productive(¶à²úµÄ) than if you stop to take a break regularly. Taking a 15-minute break every hour is a good way for most people.

Get help when you need it

Sometimes even though you are listening carefully in class, some subjects seem too hard. The first person to ask for help is your teacher. He or she may be able to work with you before or after school and explain things more clearly. Your classmates may also be able to give you a hand. However, this might not give you the results you want. Lots of people understand something well but are not able to explain it.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Much has been said and written about heroes now, mainly because many people think we have too few of them. There are many different kinds of heroes, but they usually seem to have two things. First, heroes show their great power by actions. Second, heroes can be tested by the time. Because of these good points, we need to choose our heroes carefully.

Olympic winner Jackie Joyner-Kersee tells young people to work hard. She hopes that if someone tries to copy her, it will be because she has got success by working hard. She says that a hero should affect another person¡¯s life.

Poet Maya Angelou believes that a hero encourages people to treat others well. A hero should show politeness, courage, patience, and strength all the time. A hero should encourage others to follow him with actions, even though only in small ways.

Author Daniel Boorstin suggests that, ¡°Celebrities are people who appear on newspapers, but heroes are people who make history.¡± If a person is truly a hero, he or she will not be soon forgotten.

We all need heroes. We need to be able to respect (×ðÖØ) people around us. Many times , the greatest heroes are the people we can see every day ¡ª our relatives, friends, and neighbours ¡ª who will never give up when facing difficulty. The parent who supports our family, the teacher who will make more money at another job but chooses to help students ¡ª all these people can be considered as heroes. ¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Do you enjoy wearing Levi¡¯s blue jeans? Blue jeans have become popular all over the world, but do you know how they got started?

Levi Strauss was born in Germany in the mid 1800¡¯s and immigrated(ÒƾÓ) to the United States as a young man. He lived in New York City and learned the dry-goods business for several years. In 1853 he took his knowledge and his dreams to San Francisco (California, USA). His dream to succeed came true over the next 20 years as he became a very successful businessman.

Many of Levi Strauss¡¯ customers were cowboys and miners. They needed clothing that was strong and lasting. Strauss found a special cloth from France that was comfortable and lasted a long time. It was called ¡°serge and mines¡± which was later shortened to the word ¡°denim(´ÖÃÞ²¼)¡±.

Another man named Jacob Davis bought large amounts of the denim cloth from Levi Strauss. He was a tailor who made pants for hard-working men. One of his customers was continually tearing the pockets off his pants. So Jacob Davis decided to put rivets(í¶¤)on certain parts of the pants to make them stronger. The customer loved the new pants so much that he told all his friends, and soon Jacob Davis was busy making lots of pants with rivets.

Jacob Davis soon realized that using rivets was a great business idea, and he didn¡¯t want anybody to steal that idea. He decided that he would need to get a patent. But being a poor tailor, he didn¡¯t have money to pay for the patent. After thinking it over, he went to the businessman Levi Strauss and told him his idea. He said, ¡°If you agree to pay for the patent, we will share the profits from the riveted pants.¡± Levi Strauss did agree, and the new riveted pant business was called Levi Strauss and Company.
