Not long ago, CCTV “Focus Talk” carried out many interviews and made some comments on the phenomena---“Crossing roads in the Chinese style”.
There is a very common phenomenon around us that people just run the red light. It can easily lead to serious accidents. Last week a traffic accident happened near our school. A rushing car knocked down a student who was running the red light. And the student was badly hurt. Of course this also caused a terrible traffic jam. In my opinion, something should be taken to solve the problem. First, we can make good use of  TVs, newspapers and magazines to tell people the importance of obeying the traffic rules and the road safety. Second, the government must make laws to punish people who break the law and run the red light.

One morning, a blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said, “I am blind, please help me.”
There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took out a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words on it. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by could see the words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Are you the one who changed my sign in the morning? What did you write? ”
The man said, “I only wrote the truth, I said what you said, but in a different way. ”
What he had written was, “ Today is a beautiful day, but I cannot see it.”
Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply told people to help by putting some money in the hat. The second sign told people that they were able to enjoy the beauty of the day, but the boy could not enjoy it because he was blind.
The first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind.
There are at least two lessons we can learn from this story.
The first is: Treasure(珍惜)what you have. Someone else has less. Try your best to help those who need your help.
The second is: Be creative(有创造力的). Think differently. There is always a better way!

New York Cith, “the capital of the world|”, is one of the most exciting places in the world. I was lucky enough to travel in New York City. I love it!
On the first day, we went to the Empire State Building. We went to the observation deck(观景台). The Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world for many years. On the ovservation deck, we saw the State of Liberty Bridge, Times Square, and many other things.
The New York Public Library is a place that you must visit as a traveler. It sits next to Central Park. The park itself is full of beautiful plants in the center of Manhattan. After enjoying the sights in the park, we went to Linclon Center, St Patrick’s Cathedral and several famous museums. Later we went to Broadway and Times Squre.
Night in New York is very pleasing, too. New Yorkers love to meet after work, and do so in pubs(酒吧), restaurants, and the city’s nightclubs. We come to a famous pub called McSorley’s, which is the oldest “public house” in America. It has been open since 1854. They serve only one drink. A favorite non-alcoholic(不含酒精)drink is the “egg cream”. It actually has neither eggs nor cream in it, but is made with milk, chocolate, and seltzer water(苏打水). It is delicious.

If you are in England and if you listen to the eight o’clock news from BBC , you will often hear news of road accidents . The cyclist has died from his injuries . Anyone who saw the accident please communicate(联系)with New Scotland Yard , telephone number Whitehall one , two , one , two .”
