One year ago I joined the environment group at my school in Delaware, US.I felt nervous joining.Everyone else in the group had been helping the environment for years, but I had never done anything to help the environment.
The first week I joined, the group decided to go and clean the highway near our school. We filled seven big bags with rubbish that day and we found many interesting things. One of them was an old army box.It had a gun in it!Our teacher told us to give the box to the police.Since then, my new friends and I have done a lot to help the earth.
One day, I went with the group to a nearby river. We wanted to check if it was clean. We did many scientific tests to see if the river was healthy.Surprisingly, it was!We still, though, took any rubbish we could find out of the river. We wanted to make sure fish could live there happily.
Recently, I helped the group plant flowers at our school. We're hoping the flowers will bloom(开花)this spring and make the school look beautiful. How did we pay for all the plants? We made T-shirts and sold them to our friends! We've still got some money left from selling the T-shirts.We're hoping to use it to buy some recycling bins(箱子)for the school.

Last Thursday,I traveled on the 8:00 a.m.train from Glasgow to London
King’s Cross and I was quite angry with the service of your company.
The train didn’t come on time and it was forty minutes late when it left Glasgow.
A man at the station said sorry to us,but he didn’t give us any reasons for the delay(误点).We then had further delays on the way and had to wait another thirty minutes. As a result,I missed my plane from London to Frankfurt and had to wait for several hours.
What’s more, the service on the train was also very poor. The trip took more than five hours.Unluckily,we could buy nothing but some soft drinks on the train.Worst of all, something was wrong with the air conditioning(空调系统) and it got hotter and hotter in the train. Before we reached King’s Cross, the temperature was over 40℃.
Because of your poor service,I feel you should pay me compensation(赔偿).
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
David Robertson
