　　John Glenn will always be remembered as the first American to orbit(绕……轨道而行)the earth．On February 20, 1962, a year after Yuri Gagarin's epic first orbit in the Vostok I spaceship, Glenn made three orbits in Friendship 7．When he returned to America after splashing down in the Atlantic Ocean, he was welcomed like a hero．
