“Depend on yourself” is what nature says to every man. Parents can help you. Teachers can help you. Others still can help you. But all these people only help you to help yourself.

There have been many great men in history. Many of them were very poor when they were young, and had no uncles, aunts, or friends to help them. Schools were few and not very good. They could not depend on them for education. They tried their best to learn something and never gave up till they became well-known. One of the most famous teachers in England used to tell his pupils, “I cannot make worthy men of you, but I can help you make men of yourselves.”

Some young men don’t try their best to make themselves valuable to the human beings. If they see their weak points and change their ways, they can be successful. Growing up is not always easy .When we face difficulties ,a spirit of depending yourself is more useful than crying for help .That ‘s what Hong Zhanhui’s story of growing from boy to man with family hardship tells us .

Do animals have a culture? What do we mean by “culture”? Recently social scientists have begun to ask if culture is found just in humans, or if some animals have a culture, too. When my grandmother was 89 years old ,she was having problems with her heart. My family went with her to the doctor, who told her that she needed an operation. However, the doctor said that because of my grandmother’s age, the operation could be dangerous. He went on to say that my grandmother would have a 40% chance of having a heart attack（心脏病） and a 30% chance of dying during the operation.
