题目内容
When I was young, my parents always told me that I should never talk to strangers. They told me I should never take food or candy from strangers, never get in a car with strangers, and so on.
But how could we make new friends if we were like that. We'd never get a job. We would never have the joy coming from talking with strangers.
And then, how can we break the ice?
Don't just look at your shoes. Go and say “Hi” to the person before you. It will be easier to break the ice if you know more about different cultures.
British: Beautiful day, isn't it?
The weather in Britain changes often. So, people often talk about it. Remember to say “yes” when others say this to you. It's just a start of a friendly talk, not a real question.
French: Where did you go on holiday?
To talk with a French person, the safest way is to ask his or her last holiday. French students enjoy a holiday for 10 to 15 days every two months. French employees(员工) get more than six weeks of holidays every year.
American: So, where are you from?
The US is so big and people move so often. You can try to find something to talk about with the place they're from. For example, you could say,“Oh, I have a friend studying in your city.”
