Every mother is great, so is my mother. My mother is a common worker. But I love her very much. She is tall and of medium build. She has two big eyes. Her hair is black and curly. I think she is very beautiful.

My mother likes telling stories. She also likes helping others. So she is popular. She is hard-working like many other mothers. Whenever she is at home or at work, she is always busy. On weekends, she often cleans our house, so our house is very clean and tidy. And she likes planting flowers, too. She often says, “Flowers are beautiful. Planting flowers is fun and exciting. Flowers can make the air fresh and keep the house beautiful.” She often gives flowers to her friends, too.

She is strict in my study. She often says to me, “Study is the most important thing to a student. You must study hard. Then you can do more and better for others and yourself.” And she is also kind to me. Every day she takes good care of me. She often helps me. When I have trouble, I’d like to ask her for help.”

This is my mother. She is the greatest and most beautiful mother in my eyes.

Mr. Jackson was a painter (画家) from England. One day he was staying in a hotel in Australia. While he was having breakfast, an American who had a picture under his arm sat beside him. They introduced (介绍) to each other. The American's name was Jim Black. He only collected pictures. But when Mr. Jackson asked if he was a painter too, Mr. Black answered, "Yes, I am."

Soon they became friends and began to talk something about painting. "It's a beautiful day. Let's paint some pictures in the garden," said Mr. Jackson after a while. Mr. Black didn't know what to answer because he was not able to paint.

A little time later they went into the garden with a paint box. The garden was full of spring flowers. Mr. Jackson began to paint but Mr. Black didn't. He was just walking in the garden.

"I've almost finished my picture ."Mr. Jackson said. He was going to finish a nice picture of a mother giving food to her baby in the garden.

"Beautiful! Wonderful! You are a very good painter. But I'm afraid that you have made one mistake. "said Mr. Black, "When a mother gives food to her baby she always opens her mouth too. " Mr. Jackson laughed and said, "I don't think every mother does that. Have you finished your picture yet, Mr. Black? No, not yet," answered Mr. Black.

"What shall I paint?" he thought to himself. Then he had a good idea.

Mr. Black said he was painting a picture in only one color. Mr. Jackson asked what the picture was. Mr. Black answered with a smile, "A white cat is catching a white mouse in the snow."

Yesterday my son, daughter and I went to the grocery store. In front of us in line was a little girl with her mother. The little girl was asking her mother for a box of Smarties. The polite way she was asking almost broke the mother’s heart, “I’m sorry, Honey, but we have no money to buy it ”
My son was watching that dialogue. By the way, he had been raking(用耙子耙)leaves our garden to raise himself some money to buy a bike. As he watched the mother and daughter leave the store, he ran to the candy counter(柜台)and bought a box of Smarties with the money .
He turned to look at me and I just nodded. He ran out after the little girl and her mother and he gave them the box. He came back and told me what he told them. “Every kid should have a pack of Smarties because they can make you smart.”
I was so excited that I bought a pack of Smarties for my son. I told him that I was proud of him, and that was for his act of generosity(慷慨)because he gave his own Smarties to others  Quickly, he replied, “But you do nice things for people and you never get anything for it .”explained, “when you do something nice for someone, you shouldn’t expect to get anything, when you do get something you should be very thankful.”
