Hospitals are doing experiments with tele-medicine. Tele-medicine is a technology that lets doctors "see" patients without them being in the same place. This is made possible through high-speed communication networks (网络).

Tele-medicine is already in wide use in some places such as the USA and Germany. At both ends of the line, the way of video-meeting lets them see and talk to each other. Blood pressure and body temperature are directly shown on computers. Among other uses, village doctors hold "consultations (会诊)" with far-away experts. The experts can also help them during operations.

Tele-medicine has been slow to reach Asia because of high costs, besides other reasons. When things improve, this technology will develop very fast.Chinese University of Hong Kong's medical school has joined a big hospital in Beijing, and Thailand is building a tele-medicine station connecting 20 areas.

Tele-medicine will do good to patients because doctors from different places can see them and give their medical advice. The help is of great importance if the disease is an unusual one. It also helps spread medical knowledge among experts.

As tele-medicine develops well, it will be cheaper and more popular in the medical field.

it’s easy to choose a good book!

Go to the library first. Answer these questions. What writers do you like? What are your interests? See if the library has computers. If you like a certain book, search the book up and read its summary(概要).That will help you decide if the book is right for you.

Search your house next. Often good books are quietly collecting dust(灰尘) in your own house. Maybe you forget about one. Probably, you will find some books that you can read, and they won’t even cost you any money.

Then, ask someone to recommend a good book. You can ask your older brothers or sisters, your mom, your dad, your best friend, or even your English teacher. They have something in common with you and can often make excellent book recommendations. You should ask people that like the same type of books, so that you can get books that match your need.

Join a book club , please. It helps you know who else likes the same books as you, and you can read books that other members have read and have a good discussion about them.

Finally, read the first part of each book. If that holds your attention(注意力) , read a few more pages. If it still holds your attention, then it’s probably a book for you. If you have many books, this can take much time to choose from them. Keep doing this until you have a few good books.

It was early one hot morning in 2015 when I was gently wheeled across our quiet street in my wheelchair to the taxi stand with my mother. Three weeks earlier, I had hurt my left leg at home. Now I f1. had an appointment(预约) for an operation to repair the bad break in hospital.

I was feeling n2. as I'd never had surgery(外科手术) before and the thought of it worried me. After waiting for a taxi for more than 90 minutes, we were still standing across the street from our house, trying to ask for a ride. It usually only takes a few minutes, but on this Sunday taxis would pass by us either already filled with p3. or unwilling to take us. Perhaps it was because of my wheelchair. My mother was starting to get upset as we were fast running out of t4.. Our appointment was 10:45 am and it would take up to 40 minutes to get to the hospital. Then a black SUV pulled over and stopped in front of us. The driver, taking a look at us, said, “You two look like you could use a lift!” He told us he’d seen us e5. as he was taking his son to a weekend school activity. He was now r6. home and saw that we were still there.

With no questions asked this good man welcome us aboard. We arrived at 10:30 ---just in time for my appointment. He r7. my money, saying people should help one another. He left with a smile.

To this day we have not crossed paths again with this friendly driver who went out of his way, but his help is kept in our minds. I am very grateful to this kind stranger who has taught me to keep watch for and help others in need.
