You must have been to many places. Then what place do you think is the most beautiful?

Zhong Rui, 14, from Jilin

Hainan is the farthest place I’ve been to. It is a hot but beautiful place near the sea. When I stood on the beach, the waves (浪) touched my feet and the wind tasted salty (咸的). I loved the coconuts (椰子) there. They were really fresh.

Zhang Zhaojie, 14, from Shanghai

I went to the UK last year on a camp trip. I fell in love with the place as soon as I landed there. The air smelled sweet. People there were friendly. And the sheep there were cute.

Zhou Kefan, 14, from Guangxi

The sky in Inner Mongolia (内蒙古) was very blue. Wind blew the grass and it looked just like a green ocean. At night, we had a bonfire (篝火) party together. People sang and danced there together. I really loved the place.

Wang Kaiwei, 15, from Zhejiang

About two years ago, I went to Tianshan Mountain with my father. It was really cold up the mountain. But there was a big and beautiful lake on the mountain. Standing beside the lake, I felt like I was a fairy (仙女). It was a really amazing place.

Nowadays, phone calls and messages help us communicate with others more often. It means that we seldom write letters now. But a TV show, Letters Alive, is bringing back this old habit.

Letters Alive invites famous actors and actresses but there are no funny jokes or different competitions. Instead, only one person walks up to a microphone and reads a letter. The letters were written by people from different times in history. For example, in one episode(集), they read a letter written by the famous writer Xiao Hong to her younger brother in 1941. The letter shows that Xiao Hong missed her brother so much and had great hopes for his future.

“Every letter opens another world for us,” said Guan Zhangwen, the director of the TV show. “It seems that we can experience the real lives and feelings of the writers.” Since its first episode on December 5, 2016, Letters Alive has been widely praised. Many audiences(观众) say that it has provided a breath of fresh air to today's TV shows.

Besides Letters Alive, some other cultural TV shows have also attracted Chinese audiences. They include the Chinese Poetry Conference, a traditional Chinese poetry competition and Readers, a program that invites people to read poems and articles they like or wrote.
