     Though Anjan  Bhattachary  was  deaf  (聋的 ) , eared a good name in cricket (板球). He was
born on October 15, 1951, in West Bengal. When he did not speak or respond to sound, his family
members were very sad. Anjan was strong and very active. He started playing cricket at an early age.
The fact that Anjan was neither able to talk nor hear did not affect (影响) his performance. Very soon
he was  chosen in the state learn of schoolchildren. He showed excellent performance in the matches
one after another.
     At the early age 13,he was chosen in the school team of the East Zone. At the age of fifteen,Anjan
was chosen in the national (国家的)  team of schoolboys. In 1966,he played two test matches with the
school team of London.In 1969 he went to Lucknow to take part in the Sir Frank Warrel Cricket
Tournament. The 18-year-old boy had much success in this match.
     Anjan was so popular that not only his teammates and club members,but even the members of the
opposite team admired (钦佩) him.

     As the sun rose, a dewdrop (露珠) woke up.  There it sat on a leaf, catching the sunlight. Proud of its
simple beauty,  it was very happy.  Around it were other dewdrops,  some on the same leaf and some on
other leaves. The dewdrop was sure that it was the best, the most special dewdrop of them all.

     Finally, it fell. Below there was a mirror. A reflection of the dewdrop seemed to be coming up to meet
it.  Closer and closer they came together until finally.., the small dewdrop became a part of the great pond (池塘). Now the dewdrop was no more, but it was not destroyed. 
     It had become one with the whole.
