I have come to realize that life is a journey. Whether we choose to keep moving around, or we choose to stay in one place, we are on a journey. That journey is not an easy one because every day it makes us face new problems in new ways.

When I was a little boy, I liked moving around. I always looked forward to the next trip away or the next holiday. Maybe it is because I lived in a small and boring town. How I wanted the school holidays when I could go to the coast! There I met with friends and my cousins, and enjoyed myself so much. In this way I went to three different universities to study and lived in five different towns.

All this carried on for many years until I got married and had my own family. Now having a family is a different thing because you cannot choose who they are as you want. When you stay in the same place, with the same persons, you start a whole new journey. That is the journey of facing your mistakes and trying to make them right. But instead of making the decision to leave, you have to try to tell them how you feel and forgive them.

There again you are challenged to face life, doing things such as paying your bills and trying hard to get along well with your boss. You have to keep on at your job when you feel like giving it all up and traveling again.

So rather than move around on different trips, you are on a new journey. This journey of staying still is just as important as all the travels in the world.
