题目内容
having to work anymore after they win the lottery. In real life, however, that's not always what happens.
Psychologist David Myers, in his book, says, "Winning the lottery doesn't change people's lives as much as
you might think". Most lottery winners often find that they lose their friends. Their friends will often ask them for
money and these "friends" very often get angry if they don't share the money.
Lottery winners usually spend some of the money on traveling around the world. However, when the early
excitement of traveling has gone, the happiness that the money brings also disappears (消失). In less than a year
after winning, most winners say that they are not happier than before.
Too much money can make people unhappy. One study shows that more than 30% of lottery winners lost most
of their money in the first five years and then many of them had money problems. Another study shows that a lot
of people were happily married (结婚的) before they won the lottery, but they had problems with their partners
after winning the money.
So, you see, although most people dream of winning the lottery, the dream can sometimes turn into a nightmare
(噩梦).
1. People usually dream of not after they win the lottery.
2. Although lottery winners get a lot of money, most of them may lose .
3. Most lottery winners feel they are not so as before in _________ a year after winning.
4. One study shows over 30% of lottery winners lost of their money in the first years.
5. Another study shows that people had problems with their ________ after winning the lottery.

3. happy; less than
4. most; five

A way of taking up new hobbies
Starting a new school term is always exciting. It is a chance to 66 your friends again. But the most exciting of all, a new term is a good chance to take up new hobbies. It is common (普遍的) in Britain for students to take up new hobbies after the Christmas holidays. To start something new is a common New Year resolution.
Most schools offer (提供) 67 kinds of hobby classes. Students take them in their free time or after school. Some classes you have to pay for and the others are free. For example, I once took a free Wednesday evening gymnastics class, but when I learned how to play the drum, my parents 68 to pay for the lesson.
The most popular extra classes at my school were piano lessons and drama club. Both classes offered exams students could take. Students with many hobbies sometimes feel more 69 than those without any. But the students with hobbies leave school with many extra skills.
I haven’t continued any of the hobbies I began at school, but I have never regretted (遗憾) taking them. My 70 friend today is someone I met in my gymnastics class.

任务型阅读。 I've got some information for everyone is going to Britain next month. You'll be staying with a family for two weeks. Now the most important thing is money. You should take about £30in cash (现金)and about £200 in traveler cheques (支票). Then when you arrive at the airport, our host (主人) family will meet you. You must remember to wear a red shirt so the family will find you easily. I've told them to look out for the red shirts. You'll also need to take 4 photos of yourself with you and, of course, it's very important that you take the school letter. While you are there, if you have any problems, you can call our agent(代理人). I'll give you her office phone number :It's 580-4436 and you can ask for the person-- Mrs. Belcher, that's B-E-L-C-H-E-R. She's in the office from 9-5 every day. OK! That's everything.
