We went into a secondhand shop to get out of the rain.
I took my 6-year-old daughter’s hand and we started to walk around. Suddenly she reached out her hand to touch a pair of shiny black shoes.?
“Buy for me?” she asked.
“Oh, Sweetie, they are tap dancing (踢踏舞) shoes. You aren’t taking tap dance.”
“Buy for me?” she repeated.
“Well, let’s try them on.”
She sat on the floor and took off her bright pink rain boots . When she stood up we heard “click”. She took a step, “click, click, click.”
The sun came out and we went on our way. Our next stop was the grocery store(杂货店).
“Click, click, click…” people turned to look as we entered the store. People would never allow their daughter to wear tap dancing shoes to the grocery store .?
“Excuse me, dear. Why would you allow your daughter to wear tap dancing shoes here?  They make such a noise.”
“Isn’t it wonderful?”
“Wonderful? My dear, this is not the place to wear those shoes.”
“You don’t understand. When she was a baby, doctors told us that she would never walk or talk. It has taken a lot of hard work and patience, but she asked for the shoes and the ‘click, click, click’ says that she can walk,” I said.

We went into a secondhand shop to get out of the rain.
原文:“Excuse me, dear. Why would you allow your daughter to wear tap dancing shoes here?  They make such a noise.” 故选A。

分析句意:“They don’t walk in your shoes”他们不是穿你的鞋走路。
She has taught me that it doesn’t matter what others think.

I looked at their eyes more carefully. Their eyes were saying , "You can do it! Don't be afraid, just talk !"
I took a big       . Then I began to talk. It wasn't hard. It was easy. I don't know        I finished my talk. But I did it. I felt so good that day. I showed myself        everyone what I can do.

It is not easy for people to sail (航海) around the world in quite small boats. Sometimes the weather gets bad. Accidents(事故) can happen easily and quickly.
One family once had an accident. A big fish swam under their boat and bit holes(洞) in it. Sea water came in and the boat soon went down. Luckily these people had another small boat——a lifeboat, so they all got into the lifeboat. They lived in the boat for many days. They ate and slept, and always hoped. At last people in a ship saved them.
How do people live in a very small lifeboat for a long time? They must be strong in every way. They must have a hope, and they must have a strong desire(愿望)to live. People cannot drink seawater. If they drink a lot of sea water, they will quickly die. They must catch rainwater and drink it. They must also catch fish and birds for food. Lifeboats do not often carry cookers. So people cannot cook their food in the lifeboats. Raw (生的) fish and birds are not very nice but they are their only food. They must eat raw food, or they will die.

A king in Africa had a close friend that helped him grow up. The friend had a habit of looking at everything positively(肯定)that happened in his life and saying “This is good”.

The friend did something wrong in preparing one of the guns, and after the gun from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb(拇指) was blown off. On seeing the situation the friend said as usual, “This is good!” The king replied, “No, this is not good!” He was very angry and sent his friend to jail(监狱).

When he returned home, he felt sorry for his treatment of his friend. He went quickly to the jail to speak with his friend. “You were right”, he said. “It was good that thumb was blown off.” And he told the friend all that had just happened. “And so I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so long. It was bad for me to do this.”
