　　Nature Frank Nichols has his own strong way of making America cleaner．He looks through rubbish bins for rubbish that can damage our environment－and he eats it!‘People think I'm crazy and maybe I am．But I'm trying to send a message to everybody,’said Frank,‘I'm going to do it for as long as my stomach can take it．’Frank's one-man war begins shortly before sunrises every day, seven days a week, behind local supermarkets in Detroit, Michigan．He fills his mouth with plastic cups, paper plates, newspapers, aluminum foil(铝箔),old milk cartons, and eats them．Frank says he has eaten nearly 30 tons of garbage in the last six months．

　　‘I have my own personal rubbish treatment system,’said Frank, who also eats aluminum cans, old batteries and glass．He left a well-paid accountant's job so that he could spend all his time cleaning up the town．

　　‘I may be just a small drop in the ocean, but at last I'm trying．’But Frank has paid a terrible price for his beliefs．‘My wife walked out a week after I told her how I was going to clean up the country．’Fearless Frank has also lost many of his close friends．People cross to the other side of the road when they see him coming．And he has stomach problems－bad stomach problem．

　　But Frank doesn't plan to stop fighting．In fact, he's hoping others will join him．‘Together we can make a difference,’he says．
