Nowadays, more and more parents want to send their children abroad(出国) when they are still in high school. Is this a good chance for students or not? We interviewed some teenagers and here are their answers.

Liu Xueyu, 15, Hubei

I don’t think it is a good idea because students are too young. Chinese students know little about foreign high schools. They will face different problems in living and learning. They may also have difficulty talking with teachers and classmates. I have no idea if most Chinese students can deal with these problems. If they can’t, how can they look after themselves and study well?

Wang Xin, 15, Shanghai:

I have visited some high schools in the US. Different kinds of clubs there help students study and enjoy their school lives happily. I think studying abroad will become popular and be welcomed by more and more Chinese teenagers and parents. It can improve our English, and it also opens up our eyes to the outside world.

Lu Mengmeng, 15, Shandong:

The national college entrance exam(高考) puts great pressure(压力) on Chinese high school students. Every day they spend most of their time doing only one thing: studying. I think this exam makes more and more high school students want to study abroad. Besides, it is usually easier to find a good job when you come back to China with the experience of studying abroad.

Eating out is more popular in Britain today than it has ever been. It is reported that British people spend more eating out than cooking for themselves and eating at home. However, eating out can also be expensive, so British people do not eat out every night. When having a date with friends, or having a birthday, many people like to go to a restaurant, and people often also eat in a restaurant before going to the cinema or the theater.

Most British cities have a large collection of food as well as British food, from the very cheap to the very expensive---French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and many, many more.
When people are too tired to cook after work, they often get a “take-away”. This means that they order from a take-out restaurant by telephone, and then go to get it. Many take-out restaurants also send it to your house. All you have to do is to open the door, pay and eat!
