Teahouses are places to do business, meet with friends, show off pet birds, listen to Chuanju (Sichuan opera), and most importantly, play mahjong（麻将）．As a local saying goes, "If you cannot find someone, he or she is playing mahjong, or on their way to play mahjong."

When Abraham Lincoln was young, he worked in a store. One day a woman came into the store and bought some things. They added up to two dollars and six and a quarter cents.
