For most people, the word "fashion" means "clothes". But people may ask the question "What clothes
are in fashion?" And they use the adjective "fashion" in the same way: "She was wearing a fashionable
coat." "His shirt was really a fashionable colour."
But of course there are fashions in many things, not only in clothes. There are fashions in holidays, in
restaurants, in films and books. There are even fashions in school subjects, jobs …
Fashions change very quickly as time goes. This is natural. We hear about things much more quickly

For most students, the time of exams is very stressful and difficult. Some students find the exam time
is so bad that they become ill, because they are afraid of failing, and they are afraid of letting their parents
and families down. If exams are really making you ill or worried, don't hide your feelings. Talk to someone
about it. If he or she doesn't help you, ask someone else.
Here are some top tips given by educational psychologists (教育心理学家):
     (1) Ask a teacher about how to revise and about exam skills- how to work when you are in an exam.
     (2) Take a short rest during your time of work and revision. If your mind is tired, it will not remember
well.
     (3) Revise at the time when you know you will work at your best.
     (4) Get enough sleep, and eat healthy food.
     (5) If you feel bad, talk to someone about your worries. But don't be too relaxed! Some stress over
exams makes you work hard for them.
     (6) If it upsets you to talk to your friends about an exam when it is finished, don't do it! In fact, don't
even think about the exam you have finished. What is done has been done. You cannot change what you
have written!
     (7) If you are studying in the evening, don't go straight to bed afterwards. Your mind will still be "going
round and round"- thinking too much. So something else, maybe walk or get exercise. Choose something
that will relax you, and make you think of other things.
Problems Suggestions

Feel tired. 2_______.
Feel bad or worried. It's necessary of you to 3_______.
It upsets you to talk to your friends about

For several years, Americans have enjoyed teleshopping-watching TV and buying thing by
phone. Now, teleshopping is starting in Europe. In a number of European countries, people can
turn on their TVs and shop for clothes, jewelry, food, toys and many other thing.
Teleshopping is becoming popular in Sweden. For example, the biggest Swedish teleshopping
company sells different kinds of things on TV in 15 European countries, and in one year it made $
100 million. In France, there are two teleshopping channels (频道), and the French spend $ 20
million a year buying things through those channels.

including teleshoping, because it allows people to do their shopping without leaving their homes.
With all the problems of traffic in the cities, this is an important reason to allow more teleshopping.
But at the same time, other Europeans do not like this new way of shopping. They call teleshopping
" junk on the air". Many Europeans worry about the quality of the things for sale on TV. Good quality
is important to them, and they believe they can't be sure about the quality of the things they see on TV.
The need for high quality means that European teleshopping companies will have to be different
from American companies. They will have to be more careful about the quality of the things they sell.
They will also have to work harder to sell things that the buyers can't touch or see in person.

For some people, it's easy to get dressed for work. Pilots and police officers, for example, don't have
to make decisions about their work clothes. They wear uniforms to work every day.
For many office workers, however, it is more difficult to choose clothes for work. They do not wear
uniforms to the office. Also, many organizations are changing their dress codes. They are allowing their
