Every year in the U.S.,people celebrate April 12 as the National Drop Everything and Read Day.It is a day to celebrate books and reading. And it's also the birthday of the writer Beverly Cleary.

Beverly Cleary is a famous writer of children's books. Some of her most famous books are Ramona the Pest,The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Henry Huggins and Dear Mr Henshaw.

Ms.Cleary was slow to learn to read herself. She was born in 1916,and found the books of the time not interesting.
