I told my mother everything and we knew that we were in danger.

The sailors were sure to come back for the captain's chest (箱子). We quickly went to the nearest village to ask for help. But everyone was so a1. that no one had the courage to come back to the inn with us.

"Is it there? Flint's papers, I mean." cried Pew, the blind man.

"No, there are no papers, "said another voice.

"The boy from the inn," shouted Pew. "The boy took the papers. Find him! Search the house!"
