Think back to a time in your life when you tried something new.
When I was a teenager I volunteered to pass out water at a local race. I was so excited to see all the different runners who passed by and quickly took a cup of water. Some ran past，some walked past and a few wheeled past.
I saw so many types of people doing it. I thought maybe I could do it too! The next year I decided to run for the race，but I had little running practice. I just wanted to finish.
On the day of the race，it was terribly hot. After running for about 5 miles，I was thinking，“I must be crazy. Why did I do this? What was I thinking？” And at one moment，I said to myself，“I am never doing this again！”
That first 10 km race was quite an experience. I jogged (慢跑)，I walked，I jogged and walked. At times，I didn’t know if I could finish.
Near the end，a 70yearold man ran past me，very fast，and I felt a little embarrassed (尴尬的) that I was more than 50 years younger than he and I couldn’t even keep up with him. But then I realized something. He was running his race and I was running mine. How often in life do we compare(比较) ourselves to others when we really shouldn’t? I decided that I would not give up on running races，and that one day I would be one of those 70yearolds who were still running.
As I crossed the finishing line，I was proud of myself. I didn’t regret (后悔) having such an experience.

Where is Love? How can we find Love?
Once a little boy wanted to meet Love. He knew it was a long trip to where Love lived, so he got his things ready with some pizzas and drinks and started off. When he passed three streets, he saw an old woman sitting in the park and watching some birds. She looked very hungry. The boy gave her a pizza. She took it and smiled at him. The smile was so beautiful that he wanted to see it again, so he gave her a Coke. She smiled once again. The boy was very happy.
They sat there all the afternoon, eating and smiling, but they said nothing. When it grew dark, the boy decided to leave. But before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman and gave her a hug. The woman gave him her biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door of his house, his mother was surprised by the look of joy(快乐)on his face and asked what had made him so happy. “I had lunch with Love. She has got the most beautiful smile in the world.” At the same time, the old woman,s son was also surprised at his mother,s pleasure and asked why.

Samaranch (born 17 July 1920 – 21 April 2010) was a Spanish(西班牙) sports official who served as the 7th President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 1980 to 2001.Samaranch was born into a rich family in Barcelona, he studied business at IESE Business School in Barcelona. He was good at Spanish, French, English, Russian and German. Because of his father’s influence, he became interested in sports. He was fond of football, boxing, roller skating and ice hockey（冰球）in particular. Later, he became an ice hockey player, after that he served as Spain's national ice hockey coach. He was selected to be the president of the IOC at the 83rd of the IOC plenary session(全会)in Moscow in 1980. Samaranch's greatest wish before retirement is to hope the Olympics will be held in China. Beijing succeeded in hosting the 2008 Summer Olympics on July 13, 2001. Three days later, he officially retired at the IOC in Moscow. Then he was awarded the Olympic gold medal, and accepted the "International Olympic Committee Honorary Life President" title. In the opening plenary session, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Samaranch "Medal of Honor." Though he passed away , we Chinese people will remember him forever.
