One night,John and Jack passed by a small house on their way home. Suddenly,they saw a lot of smoke coming out of its window. “It's on fire!” said John. The two brothers ran along the road shouting, “Fire!Fire!” Jack knocked on the door of the house next door. He asked the people to call the firemen. John quickly ran to the house. Through the window,he saw an old woman sitting on a sofa. She was too afraid to go out of the house. John rushed in and helped her out. Soon the firemen came and put out the fire. John and Jack were very tired but they felt happy to have helped others.
