¡¡¡¡Do houses have legs? Tujia and Miao people's houses do! In Zhangjiajie area, there are wooden
£¨Ä¾Öʵģ©houses with four ¡°legs¡±. These houses stand on four wooden poles£¨Öù×Ó£©. Sometimes two of them stand in water or on a slope£¨Ð±ÆÂ£©and two stand on the ground. People build them like this to keep wild£¨Ò°ÉúµÄ£©animals and humid£¨³±ÊªµÄ£©air out. The first floor is used to keep cows and pigs. The second is used as bedrooms and sitting rooms. All of the stairs£¨Â¥ÌÝ£©, floors and the poles of the houses are made of wood; not one nail£¨¶¤×Ó£©is used!¡¡¡¡A little bit worded when you walk on the floor? Relax! It's safe. You can even jump on it!
¡¡¡¡The biggest house of this kind in the world is in Zhangjiajie. It is 48 metres tall with nine floors.
