Last Saturday the students of our class made a bike trip of Wanping, a small town by the Taihu Lake. We set off earlier in the morning. After getting to the town, we had visited some places of interest. At noon, we had picnic near the lake. Everybody was attracted with the beautiful scenery and we took a lot of picture. In the afternoon, some of them went fishing, some flew kites, and the others rowed boats on the water. We both had a wonderful time! Helen Keller who was born in America in June, 1890．Her birth brought much happiness to her parents．But when she was 19 month old, she became deaf and blind because a serious fever．Living in a world where she couldn’t see or hear anything, she almost lost the hope to live．

I hear that many freshmen are at loss what to do when they are in a new country. Feel lonely and
homesick, they find it much harder to get use to the new culture, diet and climate. Most of them can't
take well care of themselves in their everyday life. Beside, it is difficult to find a satisfied host. It is more
difficult to fully understand what the teachers teach in class though they speak English all the time.
Could you tell me how to deal with these problem so that I will be able to suit the university life in

One day, a little girl felt down onto the ground. A boy went over and wanted to help her up, but his mother
stopped him, say, "Don't do that, or others will think you had knocked her down."
Another day, the mother, much surprised, saw that their son just watched the fallen oil bottle lying on the
ground as if nothing has happened. When asked why, the son answered, "If I had help the bottle up, you would
have thought that I did it."
I don't agree with what the mother did. I think that parents should let their children to know it is a pleasure
to help others who is in trouble. We are big family. We should care for and help each other.

Sometimes we have difficulties in remembering the names of the months in English. Therefore, if we know something about the history of t
he months, possibly they won’t seem very hard for us to remember them. The following are two examples. January named after God Janus. He was a strange god because he has two faces. He could look at two directions. He could look forward and backward at the same time. He was a god of endings and beginnings. January is the first month of a year. That is to say, it is the month in which he looks forward to the new year. It’s also a period of time how people think about the past year.
