I was off back to work one evening and my two children were sewing things on the sewing machine. My eleven-year-old daughter was,in the midst of her project, going to 36 her older brother in making a little cushion. I left, and in a few hours returned to find a mess in the kitchen, front room, and 37 children sitting in front of the television.
Having had a long day,I was very 38 with my greeting to them and then I noticed the 39 my daughter had used. It had been 40 to make a colored baby blanket, and now had chunks (厚片) cut out of almost every 41 of it. Not stopping to listen,I 42 at the children and explained how 43 I was at what had been done.
My daughter listened to me sheepishly (怯懦的),trying not to 44 herself at all,but the pain could be seen 45 across her face. She went back to her room 46 ,and spent some time in there alone 47 she came out to say good night and once again 48 for the mistake she had made.
A few hours later,as I was preparing to go to bed, there on my bed 49 a beautiful little cushion made out of the 50 cloth, with the words “I LOVE MUM”. Alongside it was a note 51 again.
To this day,I still get tears in my eyes when I think of 52 I reacted and still feel the pain of my actions. It was I who 53 sheepishly went to her and apologized for my actions. I display with great 54 the cushion on my bed,and use it as a constant 55 that nothing in this world is greater than a child's love.
