As for the building I like most, it is the Beijing National Stadium, also known as the Bird’s Nest. The Bird’s Nest was the main track and field stadium for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. After the Games it was used for various large sports events.

　 The stadium is 333 meters long and 294 meters wide, and is 69 meters tall. It held as many as 100,000 spectators during the games, which has been reduced to 80,000 since the Games. The stadium looks like a huge bird’s nest made of tree branches. In fact it is the world’s largest steel structure.

　 The Bird’s Nest is one of the unique historical landmarks that was developed for the 2008 Olympic Games. The structure of the bird nest is special for it represents the cradle of people’s hopes. In short, the Bird’s Nest is a wonderful building.
