I was tired and hungry after a long day of work.

When I walked into the living room, my 12-year-old son looked 1　 　at me and said, “I love you.” I didn’t know what to say. 2　 several seconds I could do nothing but stand there and 　3 　down at him. The next day I called his teacher to find out more about this “experiment” and how the other parents had reacted.
