Jogging (慢跑) is basically running at a steady (平稳的) speed over short or long distances. It has become popular some twenty years and remained a favorite way of keeping fit for lots of people.

65    People jog around college campuses, in parks, in the countryside and even in urban areas. Special courts, fields and running tracks are not necessary. Similarly, no special equipment is required — no costly hats, or balls, and no expensive sports kit. Good quality running shoes are advisable, but otherwise the jogger can simply wear loose, comfortable clothing.

66    It’s not unusual to see joggers exercising in the height of summer or in the depth of winter! Jogging is a solo (单独的) sport. You don’t need to wait until you have formed a team or found a partner. You can jog alone. A few words of warning, however: lone female joggers should be especially careful to choose sensible jogging routes, particularly at night time.

67    You just need to be basically healthy and after basic warming up, you are ready to begin. You simply start running, gently, and then build up to a steady pace. Do not overtire yourself by trying to go too fast. A steady, comfortable pace is your aim.

68    It’s good for the lungs, the heart and the circulation (循环). It’s easy and it’s convenient. Why don’t you try it? If you require more information, talk to one of the instructors at the sports centre. We are only too happy to help. Please remember: if you do decide to jog, talk to your doctor first if you have any health worries. Happy jogging!

第二节:根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中为每段选出最佳的段落大意。选项中有两项是多余项。(共5小题,每小题2分,共1 0分)

A.Make posters and signs catchy and helpful

B.Build your network and remind them to vote

C.Be confident in yourself all the time

D.Give a great speech with full preparations

E.What if I don’t win?

F.You can win as long as you try your best

G.Determine your issues and keep your promises

Convincing people to vote for you is probably the scariest part of an election. The best strategy is to show your fellow students that you will do a good job.How do you do this?

61._________________________________________

Think about why you want to run and what you want to do if you win. These are your issues. Then let people know what you will do if elected. When you do this, be careful not to make promises you can’t keep.Make sure your issues affect all students. If you promise to try to get the whole school painted your favourite color, students probably won’t vote for you. But, if you promise to get rid of that yucky(令人反感的)lunch menu item that no one likes, or raise money for more computers in the library, students will see that you are interested in things they care about, and they’ll vote for you.

62.____________________________________________

Keep it short, simple, and interesting, and students will remember you.Start by writing down your issues and the reasons you think you’re a good person for the job. This is the heart of the speech and will convince other students to vote for you.Start with a story to get people listening and then move on to your issues.Practice your speech so you get used to it, and you won’t be as nervous.Ask your parents or friends to listen a couple of times before the big day. When the time comes to give your speech, relax. You’ll be ready and the other students will notice.

63._____________________________________________

One of the best ways to get people to vote for you is to talk to them about it.Ask your friends to help.In many elections, people don’t vote at all.If you take the time to talk to them ,and remind them to vote, you’ll increase your chances of winning.Remind them why you’re running, and why they should vote for you. They’ll appreciate that you took the time to talk to them in person. And they’ll probably remember your name on the ballot(选票)!

64._____________________________________________

When you make your campaign posters, use a catchy slogan that helps other students remember your name.It can help you win votes. If you have trouble coming up with a catchy slogan, try searching the Internet.Don’t depend solely on posters.Your fellow students have to know why you’re running, and that’s why your speech and networking are so important.

65._______________________________________________

If you keep these things in mind, you can win your election.Just remember that you have to be prepared to work hard to help your fellow students improve your school.

If you don’t win, remember there are always other ways to get involved and make a difference. If students see that you get things done, you could easily win the next time.

第二节:根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

Doctors say anger can be an extremely damaging emotion, unless you learn how to deal with it. They warn that anger can lead to heart disease, stomach problems, headaches, emotional problems and possibly cancer.

71 Some people express anger openly in a calm reasonable way. Others burst with anger, and scream and yell. But other people keep their anger inside. They can not or will not express it. This is called repressing anger.

For years many doctors thought that repressing anger was more dangerous to a person’s health than expressing it. They said that when a person is angry, the brain releases the same hormones (荷尔蒙). They speed the heart rate, raise blood pressure, or sugar into the blood, etc. 72.

Some doctors say that both repressing and expressing anger can be dangerous. They believe that those who express anger violently may be more likely to develop heart disease, and they believe that those who keep anger inside may face a greater danger of high blood pressure.

73 They say the first step is to admit that you are angry and to recognize the real cause of the anger, then decide if the cause is serious enough to get angry about. If it is, they say, “74Wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself calmly and reasonably.”

Doctors say that a good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. 75

A. In general ,the person feels excited and ready to act.

B. They said that laughter is much healthier than anger.

C. Expressing anger violently is more harmful than repressing it.

D. Anger may cause you a cancer.

E. Do not express your anger while angry.

F. Anger is a normal emotion that we all feel from time to time.

G. Doctors say the solution is learning how to deal with anger.
