The origin of most conflicts develops as a result of the opinion that each party feels he/she is "right".This then leads to a heated debate unless one or two things occurs :one person backs down and admits defeat; discussions are sought for conciliation(调解).To effectively deal with a conflict, one must begin with a change of heart on the topic. You could both be right, or both be wrong. The most difficult yet most important thing to keep in mind is to be honest and objective(客观的)The desire to be right at all costs or to avoid admitting being in the wrong is what leads to disappointment and aggressiveness.
It is necessary to take time to consider the other person's point of view.Thinking about the other person doesn't mean you stop thinking about yourself. However, this puts you in the situation of being able to find an appropriate middle ground.
In some cases, a compromise is not acceptable.A compromise is often based on give -and-take of each person involved. However, when it comes to fundamentals (like morals and values), a compromise is actually giving up one's principles. If this is the case, one must be open and honest about one’s principles and explain one's point of view to the fullest. If the argument is strong enough, it could triumph on its own.
In response to each person's full explanation of his or her point of view, the other person must listen Listening means not only listening to the words being said but also the meaning being intended.Trying to speak louder, fashter and more forcefully than the other person only limits the other’s ability to express his/her message.Name calling, improper gestures, and violence are childish means of self-satisfaction at the expense of the other.

Does success make you happy, or does happiness make you successful? 1 .Their quest for answers has recently produced a 50-page article in Psychological Bulletin, which reviewed 225 scientific studies on this topic. 2 ?The short answer is that while success probably does make people happy(it’s better than failure, at any rate), it is also true that having a happy temperament-defined in the article as“long-term propensity(倾向)to frequently experience positive emotions”-enables you to do the things that turn into success.Your“positive effect”, which is the outward sign of your happiness, will make it more likely that you’ll land the job, find friends, form a happy marriage or other close long-term relationships, make money, be loved in your community, and be healthy. The evidence concerning health is only suggestive. 3 .We do know from other research that having friends, love, respect, social support, and agreeable employment as well as optimism and a positive attitude do tend in the long run to make people healthier.
Plowing through their accumulated evidence, the researchers asked whether happy people are better off, whether they cope better, whether they reap larger social rewards, and whether they have stronger immune systems. The answers are always yes, even though the evidence for their immune system is, again, only suggestive. 4 .They seek out other people; they solve problems creatively, and as they are more flexible, they are better able to adapt to adversity(逆境). 5
A.Happy people tend to say they are healthy, but that doesn’t mean they really are
B.This might be a pleasant topic to debate over tea some afternoon, but for psychologists, poll-takers, economists, and other observers of behavior, it’s crucial
C.Perhaps the most that can be said is in the study’s conclusion:happiness is a great asset(资产), but no guarantee of a perfect life
D.Do you know why the researchers attach great importance to this problem
E.So what did the researchers find out
F.In conclusion, happiness leads to success and vice versa
G.But happy people seem to do better socially

Is there a “success personality”—some winning combination of qualities that leads almost inevitably (必然地) to achievement? If so, exactly what is that secret success formula(公式), and can anyone develop it?
At the Gallop Organization we recently focused in depth on success, inquiring into the attitudes of 1500 distinguished people selected at random from Who’s Who in America. Our research finds out a number of qualities that occur regularly among top achievers. Here is one of the most important, that is common sense.
Common sense is the most widely possessed quality of the people surveyed. Seventy-nine percent award themselves a top score in this quality. And 61 percent say that common sense is very important in contributing to their success.
To most, common sense means the ability to present sound, practical judgments on everyday affairs. To do this, one has to remove extra ideas and get right to the key points of what matters. A Texas oil and gas businessman puts it this way: “The key ability for success is simplifying. In conduction of meeting and dealing with industry reducing a complex problem to the simplest term is highly important.”
Is common sense a quality a person is born with, or can you do something to increase it? The oil man’s answer is that common sense can definitely be developed. He owes this to learning how to debate in school. Another way to increase your store of common sense is to observe it in others, learning from their—and your own—mistakes.
Besides common sense, there are many other factors that influence success: knowing your field, self-reliance, intelligence, the ability to get things done, leadership, creativity, relationships with others, and of course, luck. But common sense stands out. If you develop these qualities, you’ll succeed. And you might even find yourself listed in Who’s Who someday.
