Our clothes are a thing can affect our moods.Wear colorful clothes shows and affects our feelings. When we're sadly,we will wear dark clothes. But when happy,we often chose to wear brightly-colored clothes. Our choice of color shows what we are feeling.Suppose we are felt sad,if we wear black we may begin to feel worse. However,if we wear green, red and yellow we may feel good.Orange makes us more happier, white makes we helpful, and so on.So remember,if you are not feeling your best, you can try out some clothes of different colors. If one color has not effect on your feelings, maybe another will.

16.Mother's Day is coming up.Maybe your gift is wrapped and your dinner plans booked for mom,step-mom,grandmother-whoever the person is who fed, cared for, taught and loved you.
But there are other people who said their most special Mother's Day memories rarely dealt with beautifully wrapped objects, but rather, the ways people showed they cared.
Mother's Day 2012was the last one Jannet Walsh was able to celebrate with her mother,Margaret, who had a stroke (中风) in 2009.In her last few years,Walsh always shot photos and videos of their visits together, and with Walsh's West Highland White Terrier, Andrew.
"My mother had a dog just like him,so I wouldtell her i was her dog,and she would hold onto his leash, even in bed up to the last few weeks before she passed away,"Walsh said.
As Mother's Day approached,Walsh wanted a way to remember her mother and"best friend".She decided to build the memories she captured during those last few years into a video memorial-images of her mother with Andrew or quiet moments at her gravesite.
"I thought it good to tell the story with few words, just show my mother as she was happy, and loved till the end,"Walsh said.
Mother's Day was not a light-hearted subject for Wendy Bowers in the past. Her mom had walked out when she was 18,and Bowers had tried for years to become pregnant without success. She had almost convinced herself she wasn't meant to be a parent.
But three years after she gave up on having a baby,Bowers discovered that she was pregnant.Six weeks earlier than expected, little Nathan arrived.
That first year,Nathan, only 10months old,was sick with a stomach bug.Bowers said she spent the day holding him between loads of laundry."I would not have been anywhere else in the world that day,"she said."I wouldn't trade that first Mother's Day for anything, and I'm pretty sure Mother's Day will always be a reminder to me of just how lucky I am to even be a mom."

3.There are two kinds of memory:short-term and long-term.Information in long-term memory can be remembered at a later time when it is needed. The information may be kept for days or weeks. However, information in short-term memory is kept for only a few seconds, usually by repeating the information over and over. The following experiment shows how short-term memory has been studied.
Henning studied how students who are learning English as a second language remember vocabulary. The subjects in his experiment were 75college students. They represented all levels of ability in English:beginning, intermediate (中等),and native speaking students.
To begin, the subjects listened to a recording of a native speaker reading a paragraph in English.Following the recording, the subjects took a 15-question test to see which words they remembered. Each question had four choices. The subjects had to circle the word they had heard in the recording,Some of the questions had four choices that sound alike. For example, weather, whether, wither, and wetter are four words that sound alike. Some of the questions had four choices that have the same meaning.Method, way, manner, and system would be four words with the same meaning. Finally the subjects took a language proficiency test.
Henning found that students with a lower proficiency in English made more of their mistakes on words that sound alike; students with a higher proficiency(精通,熟练) made more of their mistakes on words that have the same meaning.Henning's results suggest that beginning students hold the sound of words in their short-term memory, and advanced students hold the meaning of words in their short-term memory.

13.A scientist responsible for finding signs of life on other planets has warned that human beings should probably think twice before making contact with aliens(外星人).
Professor Matthew Bailes is based at Swinburne University and is leading Australia's efforts to find signs of extra-terrestrial (外星的)life. But he warned that making contact with aliens capable of transmitting powerful signals to earth over tens of thousands of light years could lead humans into disaster, because they're likely to be so much advanced."The history of weak civilizations contacting more advanced civilizations is not a happy one!"he said.
Prof Bailes was recently put in charge of the Breakthrough Prize Foundation's $100m to search for alien life, which is being financed by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner and is backed by Professor Stephen Hawking. The team working on the project will use the Parkes radio telescope, one of the largest in the world,to scan the universe.
Prof Bailes told the news media that accurate computers would have to be installed at Parkes to sort through as many as a billion samples a second to try to detect patterns or likely signals."There is no manual(指南) on how to find aliens. We'll have to imagine the sort of transmissions an alien race might send."
The computers,he warned, would take a year to build, and the project has five years to run.But he said that the signal,if and when it arrives, would likely be quite weak after travelling across such vast distances. He said that scientists hope that aliens will send a pattern human beings would be able to recognize, such as prime numbers. But he warned that we might all be"long dead and buried"before we could work out how to reply and the aliens could get an answer.
