Conversation begins almost the moment we come into contact with another and continues throughout the day with the aid of cell phones and computers. However, we are so often absorbed in conversation that we lose sight of its true purpose and value.

One important aspect of a good conversation is the words used to express thoughts and feelings. We are full of deep thoughts and strong emotions, yet our vocabularies are not enough for this expression, and many make little effort to expand that. Perhaps you see a movie that touches you deeply, yet you have the following conversation: “So, what did you think of the film?” “Oh, my God, it was so sad. I swear, I went through using up a box of tissues. I was in tears.”This dialogue is hardly an effective way of expressing feelings. It gives no sign of how or why the movie truly affected you. Such commonly-used phrases are certainly not enough to describe a deeply moving experience. However, not only must you try to avoid overused words, you must also be careful in your selection. The purpose of expanding vocabulary is not to use the largest or most impressive words, but to find those best suited.

What is lacking in many conversations is the ability to talk to another rather than just talking with that person. A thoughtful person will find that even in the most ordinary of conversations, there are a thousand questions waiting to be asked if you have courage and a desire for change, in order to seek out the person behind the mask. Good conversations should not be made up of nonsense, but of a meeting of two sharing the human condition. It should bring a purer understanding of others and offer a release of emotions more than drive away unpleasant thoughts or kill time. If we want,we can reach beyond the superficiality(肤浅)of talking into the vast kingdom of wisdom.

You might make a disgusted face when you notice that the person waiting in their car at the red light next to you is picking their nose, but admit it,you do it too.And while it might be the natural option when there isn't a box of tissues around,it can be bad for you.The main reasons people feel the need to pick their nose is to clear it of dried liquid, stop an itch(痒),or just because it feels good.Boogers(鼻屎)form when dried liquid and cilia, the tiny hairs that line the nostrils(鼻孔),trap the dust, dirt, and other things. When boogers build up in your nose,it can be uncomfortable, and sometimes just blowing into a tissue doesn't do the trick.

Otolaryngologist Erich P.Voigt,MD,told Business Insider that picking your nose can cause injuries and bleeding within your nostrils. That's not terribly damaging, but when the bacteria from your hands get into your body,it can cause a cold and flu.So doctors strongly suggest not picking the nose.

If dry winter air is causing the dirty liquid to harden in your nostrils, making you want to pick, consider damping the air at home,or taking a steam shower to soften things up in there.

Children, who are most famous for having a finger up their nose, sometimes don't realize how much injury they're causing, and sometimes it.can lead to nose bleeds.

So,next time you go to pick your nose, think about how many bacteria are on your hands and in your boogers, and maybe reach for a tissue instead.Even if you 're alone, and not waiting for the light to turn green, please, use a tissue.

1.Why do people pick their nose?

A. Because they want to disgust others.

B. Because they have the need to do it.

C. Because they have nothing else to do.

D. Because they don't have tissues around.

A. act B. work

C. play D. help

3.Which can help people avoid a cold and flu according to the text?

A. Stopping nose picking. B. Using tissues regularly.

C. Taking a shower every day. D. Keeping the air wet at home.

4.What should you do when you have to pick your nose?

A. Be careful not to cause bleeding.

B. Use a tissue instead of bare fingers.

C. Wait for the light to turn red if you are driving.

D. Wash up your hands and clear your fingernails.

Most of us mistakenly think that creativity is a quality belonging only to inventors rather to ourselves. 1. The following tips are a great beginning for developing our creativity.

1. Get out of your comfort zone

Break out of your usual patterns and welcome creativity into your life. The human brain was designed to recognize patterns. We continue to create patterns and routines for almost everything we do. 2. As we become more efficient at using patterns, we rely less on creativity to find new paths. We should force ourselves out of our comfort zones and open up new possibilities.

2. 3.

If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got. We are creatures of habits and routines, but creativity hates routines. Interrupt your routine and try something new. Undoubtedly, new things are often creative.

3. Take action

4. You must work to make it a reality. Have you ever seen a new product and realized that you thought of the same thing long ago? Yet someone else is making money with “your” idea. 5. The difference between a dreamer and a doer is action. If you can put your ideas into practice, you are well on your way to improving your creativity. You can become a true inventor in your own life somehow!

A. Having a great idea is not enough.

B. Seek several options.

C We may attempt to think from the other person’s point.

D. Try different things.

E. However, the truth is that we are all born with the potential to be creative.

F. In fact, our comfort zone is only a collection of patterns.

G. We all have great ideas sometimes, but only a few people turn their ideas into reality.
