Mr. and Mrs. Smith had always spent their summer holidays in New Jersey(新泽西州) in the past, staying in a small inn(小旅馆) at the foot of a hill. "Yes, certainly, sir," answered the man. "We serve breakfast from seven to half past eleven in the morning, lunch from twelve to three in the afternoon, tea from four to five, and dinner from six to half past nine."

"But that hardly leaves any time for us to see the sights of London." said Mrs. Smith.

Mr. Green and his wife had a dog. When they went out, they always left the dog inside the house. One evening they wanted to go to the cinema, so they left the dog in the house and locked the door and their garden gate. They went off in their car.

When the film was finished, they went home. They opened the gate and put the car away. When they came to the front door, they found that the glass in the door was broken. There are two deaf(聋的) men in a small village. One is Mr. White and the other is Mr. Black. They live near to each other. They are good friends.
